Hyeri stars in teen thriller 'Friendly Rivalry'

Hyeri led the teen mystery thriller series ‘Friendly Rivalry’, which premiered on U+ Mobile TV on February 10. It was her first drama role since ‘May I Help You?’ in 2022. Adapted from the webtoon of the same name by Song Chae-yoon and Shim Jae-young, the series ran through March 6, with new episodes every Monday to Thursday.

She portrayed Yoo Jae-yi, the school’s top student with a perfect score on her CSAT test. The character is calculating and mysterious, a departure from her previous “bubbly girl” roles, and the story explores same-sex attraction. Jung Soo Bin also stars in the drama.

Hyeri’s performance in the series garnered critical and audience praise for her transformation in the role. She earned a nomination for Best Actress at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards for her work in the series.
