Girl's Day Marks the Anniversary of Its 2010 Debut

This month brought the anniversary of Girl’s Day’s debut. The Seoul group formed under Dream T Entertainment and debuted in July 2010 with five members: Jihae, Jisun, Jiin, Sojin, and Minah.

The lineup didn’t hold for long. Jisun and Jiin left in 2010, Yura and Hyeri were added to replace them, and Jihae departed in late 2012. That left Sojin, Minah, Yura, and Hyeri as the four who carried the group through its most commercially successful years.

The anniversary revisits a catalog built on hard sales. Their biggest hits each sold more than one million digital copies, among them ‘Twinkle Twinkle’, ‘Hug Me Once’, ‘Expect’, ‘Something’, ‘Darling’, and ‘Ring My Bell’.

That reach went beyond music. Girl’s Day endorsed over 20 brands and ranked 13th on the Korea Power Celebrity list in 2015, then 26th in 2016. Member Hyeri ranked 3rd individually that year.
